Spring-like

It has been like Spring here lately - some days have even been downright hot in the mid-80's. (Although there is a cold front coming in right now, so we'll get another taste of winter.) But we've been enjoying the warm weather and trying to do as many things outside as possible. The past couple of weekends we've had the normal stuff - ballet, Gymboree, cleaning, errands. But last weekend we also went to the zoo. We had a great time and it was not crowded (yet - first thing in the morning), so that was nice. During the week, we had an impromptu playdate with one of Natalie's friends when both of his parents had to work late one evening. The walk home from school was a little tricky with four kids - the double stroller and the wagon were involved with Mom pushing and pulling both. This past weekend we went to the neighborhood crawfish boil and enjoyed some good live music (as well as food), then we had friends over for dinner. Natalie was happy to be the oldest child and fell right in telling everybody else what to do. They all had fun with many rounds of ring around the rosie. Sunday morning we had breakfast at Dry Creek outside and then spent the day in the yard. Natalie and Owen helped with the watering, and also spent their time hiding from bears and dragons and ordering ice cream cones at the imaginary restaurant in our backyard. Henry just watches and laughs, although these days you absolutely have to strap him into seats or he'll manuever himself out - he's ready to catch up with Nat and Owen.
