Thanksgiving

We made it through the week with Dad out of town with minimal stress (there was one night when nobody wanted to sleep), and Mom enjoyed attending Natalie & Owen's pow-wows (Thanksgiving parties) at school on Friday. Natalie was an indian and Owen was a pilgrim. Mom went to both parties, but we all ended up at Natalie's party so that we could all be together. Owen had a blast playing at the bigger kids playground. He nearly killed himself coming down a steep slide, all the while yelling, "Whee!" At that point Mom decided it was time to go. That night after dinner everybody stayed up late playing games and reading books while we waited for Dad to get home. Saturday night we had a special treat and went to the Aquarium Restaurant downtown. We rode the ferris wheel and Natalie and Owen took turns on the carousel (ridng sharks of course). During dinner we enjoyed watching all the fish and sharks swimming by. Monday it was off to the doctor for Henry's 2 month check up, and everybody else had flu shots. On Wednesday, Aunt Karen arrived and we had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. Karen had some quality Henry time, and Natalie and Owen were very excited to see her. She left Saturday and we were basically housebound the rest of the weekend since we had constant rain. We did make it out for some holiday shopping on Sunday. Now we are getting into the Christmas spirit and getting decorations up around the house.

Henry's Smile

Henry has been smiling away for several weeks but we never have the camera around to capture it. Mom finally got some pictures and here are a couple. He's been laughing a lot too. The other night he was cracking himself up in his cradle, and Mom and Dad had a good chuckle over it. We are getting through the week - Mom went off maternity leave this week, and Dad is out of town. So things are crazy, but we are surviving. And everyone is still smiling!

Early Thanksgiving and Warm Weather?

Last weekend Grandma Laura and Grandpa Roger came for a visit and we celebrated Thanksgiving a little early. We had a lot of fun and great weather for their visit. On Saturday Mom and Grandma (and Henry) went to Natalie's ballet class and got to sit in on class and observe. Of course having all the moms (and some dads) there made it difficult on the teacher since the girls were more interested in their parents (3 year olds!). And Grandpa helped Dad with some outside projects (and Owen hung with the guys). On Sunday we went to the zoo and saw almost all of the animals. We most enjoyed the elephants, giraffes, and monkeys. Natalie and Owen would have taken rides on the carousel all day if allowed. We had Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday night, and Natalie and Owen enjoyed eating in the "diming" room as Natalie is calling it. She now points out all the neighbors houses that have diming rooms. Natalie and Owen went to school on Monday, but Grandma and Mom picked them up early for a trip to the playground. Grandma and Grandpa left on Tuesday, and we had a low key remainder of the week. The weekend was also low key, and hot! We are getting into summer clothes again!?! We are looking forward to getting out the Christmas decorations, and hoping it will cool off again soon. Henry is doing great! He is smiling like crazy, and gaining weight and growing!
