Rockets Pre-game Dance

Here is the video of Natalie dancing the pre-game show at the Rockets game. She's in the middle of the screen - third one from the left in the second to last row. We were in the nosebleed section (and those seats weren't cheap!!).

More February

We've had more exciting stuff going on. I've included a picture showing the kids climbing all over me while we watched the Superbowl. Ike said they look like ants swarming me. The next week Natalie was on the announcements, so I stayed at school to watch her recite the pledge of allegiance, the Texas pledge, and sing "You're a Grand Old Flag." She did a great job! Don't ask her all the words to the song though....That weekend was the Rockets game where Nat danced in the pre-game show. She had the opportunity through the cheerleading class she did at school. She was great in the show! She's in the second to last row, the third one from the left in the photos. I tried to put her near the center when I could. I'll also try to upload the video of the dancing. Ike, Owen, and I enjoyed the game. Nat left after the show to go to a sleepover with her friend Cate and 11 other girls (those parents are crazy!!!!). That's Nat and Cate posing as Rockets players. We also celebrated Valentine's Day - see the kiddos in their red & pink - (and filled up on candy!), and Natalie had a poetry performance at school last week. She was doing an eagle poem, so we fixed her up as an eagle. She got a 100 for her grade! Must have been the costume - ha ha! In other news, Owen has learned how to read, and he is doing awesome! Hank is, well, he's Hank. He's a charmer - he has all of the teachers at school and coaches at gymnastics and swimming and all wrapped around his finger! Owen and Hank have both started soccer for the Spring, and Owen's T-ball season just started too. And Colin is doing great! He's working on walking - he's a little slower than the rest of the crew, but who needs to walk when you have three kids bringing you everything you need?? And Natalie carries him around too. Pretty scary, she's good at holding him - the little mama. Anyway, Colin pulls up on stuff, and he walks when you hold his hands, he's just not ready to let loose yet. No rush, that's one less thing I have to worry about!!

Natalie's Birthday Festivities and Other Stuff

Natalie turned 7 last week. Our big girl. She had a great birthday! Before her birthday, last weekend, we had some other stuff going on. She represented her class to present their sea turtle projects in the Gifted/Talented Expo. She knew the answers to all of the questions she was asked! That same weekend (the 30th), Ike ran the Houston Marathon. What a yucky day. It has been cold here, and it was a little chilly that day. It was raining, and the humidity was awful. We went out to cheer him on around mile 5 and again right before mile 22. I know he was glad it was over! I also posted some random pictures of the boys playing from a couple weeks ago. They are all getting big!

So Nat's birthday week (last week) involved celebrating just about everyday. We had the family celebration on Tuesday; we ordered in, opened presents, and had cookie cake. On her birthday I took cupcakes to her class and we sang to her. Thursday we went out for mexican - our favorite - and Nat got the royal treatment with flan and singing. We've come a long way from when she would hide by me if they sang to her at a restaurant!

This past weekend, she had her all-girls "rock star" party with her friends. That was a lot of fun! The girls dressed up, got makeovers, then did karaoke! And we wrapped it up with red velvet birthday cake. I have video of Nat doing Taylor Swift with her friend - I'll try to post it.

Saturday night Nat had her BFF from gymnastics, Grace, spend the night. They had a good time, opening gifts, doing crafts, and putting on plays for me. It was a great week and weekend!
