The Holidays

Happy New Year! We've been action-packed since Colin's birthday! After his birthday, we went to Great Wolf Lodge (indoor waterpark) for Thanksgiving. We had so much fun! And we were worn out when we got home. There was something for everyone - even Colin got to sit in the pool in the kiddie area and splash! Natalie & Owen and Ike & I loved all of the water slides. Hank was a little reserved and only went on the smallest slides. He just wanted to go to the "boat area" and sit on the waverunners. In December, we had all of the kids' holiday programs and end of the year/semester events with Natalie's cheerleading, ballet, and gymnastics. Her cheerleading demonstration was great, and Ike and I loved observing her progress at ballet. She has great form! We had a visit from Grandma Phyllis and Grandpa Tom, and we celebrated Ike's birthday and early Christmas with them. We had a lot of fun with them and what a busy weekend that was!! We went to Henry & Colin's school Christmas open house, and that was fun for the kids to decorate cookies and ornaments. Natalie had a gymnastics meet and she received all top ribbons (blue and purple). The week before Christmas I went to Henry's school performance - he was a great reindeer in the Rudolph performance! We also went to Natalie's Christmas party and watched Owen sing Christmas carols. He's so funny - he says he wants to be a singer!! We went to New Orleans the weekend before Christmas and had a lot of fun. We had my work holiday party, and we went to the Aquarium, the Insectarium (where Nat and I ate chocolate-covered crickets!), rode the streetcar, and went to some of our favorite places there. We had a really nice Christmas. We went over to our friends' house for dinner on Christmas Eve, and we had a lazy Christmas day at home. We enjoyed checking out Christmas lights & decorations all over town, and we went to Moody Gardens in Galveston for their Festival of Lights. New Year's was also fun. Nat and Owen stayed up to ring in the New Year, and we had fun playing games all evening. We're excited to see what 2011 will bring.
